I know some of my friends were cheering when Edwards got dinged. No one wants to see a player hurt, but to be removed from the Bills starting lineup you need to have a national disaster or near death experience.

Fitzpatrick gave them life. He started a little woozy but got them going. Is the management of this team blind? Even the sportscasters think Edwards still has so much promise. I think he should run for congress. After all, Larry Felzer wrote about what a good deal the Bills made trading Daryle Lamonica. I can remember sitting with my son in the end zone at the Rockpile with my silver and black waiting for Lamonica to come out and throw 5, yes FIVE first half TD's in the FIRST HALF! Was that the year Jack Kemp set the record for QB fumbles? or was it the year before? Come on DICK, have some stones - keep Fitz in there no matter what! or better yet, give Gibran Hamden a chance.

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5392057300402727554" style="DISPLAY: block; Owens, chances are TO would come up with 2 or 3 long gains or touchdowns. The defense played good. Fact is, Coach Dick should be fired by noon today or it's a slap in the face to Buffalo fans everywhere.

Trent Edwards is the smartest quarterback in the NFL. He takes no chances, pads his stats (especially on passes short of what is needed for a first down), and dumps the ball off while TO and Lee Evans are waving to him and are wide open. At the end of the day, his stats never look bad. He is a survivor and would be a decent QB on a great team. Fact is with all the firepower the Bills have on offense, Trent will never bring it out. Don't even blame the offensive line who has guys that can't count. They protected well enough for a quarterback to have some success.

Let Gibran Hamden play. He always looks good in the pre-season, has a history of getting rid of the ball fast, throws long, and is more mobile than Edwards.

The Bills will not make any moves. The stadium will be packed. Even Ed Kilgore will call for their heads but nothing will happen. Can't we play the Raiders for a few weeks in a row? or maybe UB? No, UB has a young QB who makes mistakes but keeps throwing long. They would probably beat the Bills.

Owens, Lynch, Fred Jackson, Lee Evans and company would play their hearts out for a quarterback with testicles. The talent is there. Dump the Coach and Quarterback now.

Baseball Playoffs - Joe Torre vs. Yankees in Series?

I thought by this time the Cardinals would have put the Dodger Blue away but Andre Ethier & Co, have other ideas. Andre Ethier is an outfielder from Arizona USA. He is on fire this year and may lead the Blue into the first season at new Yankee Stadium. Not to mention Joe Torre is smiling ear to ear. Not discounting those remaining totally. It seems like this is the series most want to see. Yankee pitching needs to come to the front or Dodger Blue could be there without them. Will Moose Skowron be there? Mickey? the Duke? Rocky Colavito?
The Cardinals aren't completly done yet. They now disgrace the old AFL and more. Sound familiar Bills fans? Bengal fans? The Raiders, however are on the extreme fast track.

Their Coach is getting arresting for assaulting an Assistant. So keep your heads up there in Canuffalo, or is that Buffalo, or is that Canada? Toronto fans are sick of losers (Bluejays exeption) too. The real Bills backers up north may be booking for Pittsburgh until the Bills have to sell to Toronto or I could actually go see the Hamilton Tiger Cats of the NFL - That would be more fun than what we have now. The current management of the team accepts being horrible year after year. But Coach Dick nor Mr. Wilson have not attacked the GM. That's where the problem starts. All need to go.

Imagine they are physically beating each other up and you become a Raider fan too. So keep your head up Bucky- Ritchie Lucas, Warren Rabb, and Lucas McCain are coming to the rescue of Trent Edwards, the kid from California who cracks under pressure. We've been here before - and we came out of it by cleaning house. It's Time! - and the Raiders should join the CFL now and the Oaklanders could become fans of the Hamilton Tiger Cats.

Trade Marshawn Lynch and a first round pick for a decent Quarterback while his value is still high.Take it on the chin to make up for past mistakes. He could make us sorry but we need a top notch Quarterback to lead our team. In the meantime give Fitspatrick a chance! Keep TO and Lee Evans happy. Why leave Edwards in to get killed against Miami? He had a good line in game 1 and now we have new injuries every week and Edwards cracks under fire. Injuries hurt them in the defensive backfield too. Bench or trade Trent Edwards for an enormus powerful fullback and first fire the Bills Management of Player personel, Coach Dick, bring in Jim Kelley, he's more than ready so Lindy Ruff would have a counterpart. They did seem more physical even in losing in OT to the Canadiens 2-1. Tim Connolly scored the Sabres only goal and it looked like the Sabres would take it to them early. The Habs had an instant replay of their win over Toronto with goaltender Carey Price eventually stealing the show from a good Ryan Miller performance. Gionta, Gomez, and Cammeleri may revive the Habs this year.

Where was Vanek? He looked a little lost. Drew Stafford continues to underachieve. The entire defense looked more aggresive and improved for the Sabres. Jason Pomminville avoided the corners and anything that moved again but he did provide some puck movement and stickhandling. I don't care for him on the powerplay point anymore as he loses the puck too often. Roy looked very good too. You gotta love Kaleta. I think it's too early to pass judgement on them. They could be a lot better but it was hard to tell in such a boring game ("Play appears to be ragged at times").

Lee Evans

If you like the Bills you have to be a big Lee Evans fan. The regular season results in changes down the stretch and into the playoffs as the more physical teams take charge. Last year I predicted the Sharks late season fall and the rise of the Flames. Here is the way the new season will go.
EAST:1. Washington Capitals - Ovechkin is the best and most determined player in the NHL. The Caps are ready to take it a notch up. 2. Philadelphia Flyers - If you can't beat um' in the alley, you can't beat em' on the ice. I've always been a Sabres fan and thus disliked the Flyers. You just gotta' love these guys. They will be fun to watch and depending on how tight the calls are this year, they could go all the way. 3. Buffalo Sabres - OK, I'm a homer. If the tight calls go the other way, look for the munchkin forwards to do some real damage. Ryan Miller and Thomas Vanek have standout seasons.4. Montreal Canadiens - With the improvement of the Leafs, the Canadiens will feel pressured to play a more steady game. They are solid all over and only need to regain their power play. They will with Gomez, Gionta, and Cammaleri. 5. Boston Bruins - Great goaltending of Tim Thomas will keep them in it. I think they are overrated. A few injuries, a lack of scoring, and big heads will keep them down.6. Pittsburgh Penguins - Ton of talent gives way to a lack of heart. Crosby will have a super season. Malkin will falter. Not enough room in the house for those two. Bad start could take them down.7. New York Rangers - Like their baseball counterpart the Yankees, they just can buy a championship. This year they will be much better though and could surprise with their depth and talent.8. Toronto Maple Leafs - Yes, it finally happens. Tough Leafs will resemble young Flyers. Hockey Night in Canada will be virtually unbearable to watch as the band wagon jumpers over hype the Leafs but they will make the playoffs. 9. New Jersey Devils - Didn't you notice a little chink in the armor of Martin Brodeur last year? Can't hit the broad side of the barn with the offense.10. Tampa Bay Lightning - With a little better defensive cast, you can't hold down Vinny and Martin St. Louis for too long. They might rise even higher with a good start.11. Ottawa Senators - Sorry I just don't like these guys. Lot's of talent. Dirty players and dirty GM.12. New York Islanders - I like them. This is the beginning of the rise if the Islanders again. Many underrated players and Tavares to lead them.13. Carolina Hurricanes - OK, Eric Staal and Cam Ward are great. Almost as dirty as the Senators, the Canes will take a dive this year. Getting old.14. Florida Panthers - The ghosts of Ollie and Jay will haunt them. Great AHL team.15. Atlanta Thrashers - Wouldn't it be cool to see Kovalchuck on a good team? Once every ten games they look great. Chicken fodder for the good defensive teams.
WEST:1. Detroit Red Wings - I know, I know, not again. Best managed team in hockey just gets in everyone's way. So talented and determined at every position. Most teams just chalk up a loss. Look for Zetterberg to fly very high this year.2. Calgary Flames - Finally, Canadian fans have something to cheer about. They are fast, rough, and seasoned. Jerome finally has some help in a better defense. I picked them to go far last year and they will continue to rise.3. Anaheim Ducks - If they were from NY City or Canada, they would be picked by all the sportswriters. Big Ducks quack the beaks out of most teams. They will be there at the end.4. Chicago Black Hawks - I wish I could pick them first but they are missing something. Maybe a veteran forward for leadership. Patrick Kane has big stones for a little guy and will only get better. Great all around and hungry.5. St. Louis Blues - Remember the expansion years? The Blues were all class. Guess what? They are again. Will be most improved team in the NHL.6. San Jose Sharks - What? The Sharks 6th in the West? I knew they would take a dive last year and I still think they are overrated. McLellan fired by mid-season. Ducks will crush em'.7. Los Angeles Kings - OOO give me the offensive purple Kings again. This year they finally come together. Tons of scoring and good goaltending puts them on track.8. Vancouver Canucks - Best goaltender in the league can't save them from taking a dive. Burrows is great but not much respect for the Sedins.9. Dallas Stars - Chop Chop. Need to get some toughness and defense. Great forward corps and leadership. Inconsistant.10. Nashville Predators - Many teams wish they had their defense. They could surprise if only they'd change their name to the Nashville Cats.11. Colorado Avalanche - A few great players. Very cool uniforms. Great fans. Not enough.12. Phoenix Coyotes - Maybe the Hamilton Tiger Cats? Good young, tough team. Just poor management.13. Edmonton Oilers - Such a proud franchise, history, and great hockey fans. It's a shame. They are officially worse than the Leafs now.14. Minnesota Wild - Hey I am Italian. I cheer for the Red, Green, and White. Too bad Team Italy might beat them.15. Columbus Blue Jackets - They play like Ottawa south. A few great players and nothing but chippy play. Move them to Winnepeg. Cool uniforms though.
Ducks will beat the Flyers in the most memorable Cup Final in years. It will be a war.

First Night NHL Games

Capitals 4 Bruins 1
I told you so.
